★Division of Cardiology

The Division of Cardiology cares patients having heart diseases or circulation problems, such as hypertension, heart failure, chest pain, or arthrosclerosis. They have a very good equipped cardiac catheterization room and a coronary care unit. They are especially good at cardiac vessel stent placement and save a lot of patients suffering from myocardial infarctions. They published a lot papers on the treatment of cardiovascular diseases in famous journals, such as Circulation, Cardiology, and so on.

★Division of Chest Medicine

The Division of Chest Medicine cares patients having lung diseases, such as pneumonia, asthma, tuberculosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, or respiratory failure. They are especially good at diagnose lung cancer. They have a respiratory care unit for patients who need ventilator to help them breath. They have many studies covered asthma, respiratory physiology and the ventilation support.

★Division of Gastroenterology

The Division of Gastroenterology cares patients having liver diseases, such as hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatoma and patients having gastrointestinal diseases, such ulcers in the stomach or colon. The doctors in this division are good at endoscopy and ultrasonography. They are good at therapeutic endoscopy and sonographic guided treatments. The doctors are also active participated in multinational clinical trials for new drugs for hepatitis.

★Division of Nephrology

The Division of Nephrology cares patients having kidney diseases. They are specialists for renal replacement therapy, such as hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis for renal failures. ★Division of Hemato-Oncology

The Division of Infection cares patients having various infectious diseases. Usually, the patients have fever and cannot be diagnosed easily by the other specialists. They care patients suffers infections by all kinds of pathogens, such as bacteria, virus, and parasites. They are very devoted to the care of patients with AIDS, and emerging infectious diseases, such SARS, and bird flu.

★Division of Rheumatology

The Division of Rheumatology and Immunology cares patients having arthritis, or soft tissue diseases, such rheumatoid arthritis, gout, or SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus). There are many patients with very different clinical manifestations, therefore, the diagnosis is always challenging and rewarding for patients and doctors. ★Division of General Medicine

The Division of General Medicine cares all kinds of adult patients, usually multiple diseases or minor diseases that do not need the care from a sub-specialist. Their ward is designed for teaching and training purposes. The physicians in this division devote most of their time on bedside teaching and training for PGY residents. Integrated medical knowledge and multidiscipline clinical skills are emphasized, demonstrated and practiced in their ward.

★Division of Critical Care Medicine

The Division of Critical Care Medicine cares patients having serious diseases, such as sepsis, respiratory failure, heart failure or multi-organ failures. The patients usually need multiple tubes in the body, such as endotracheal tube for ventilation, nasogastric tube for feeding, Foley catheter for urinations and some other draining tubes for wound or pus drainage. The wards are equipped with all kinds of modern medical facilities and deployed a lot of doctors and nurses. They help the other divisions to care severe illness patients and get a lot of supports from physicians of other divisions.
